Adele Lynette Nibler (Adele) Obituary

Sacramento, CA - Ms. Adele Lynette Nibler, 81, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Sacramento, California. Born on October 2, 1942, in Walla Walla, Washington, Adele led a life enriched by education, travel, music, and family.

Adele graduated from Desales and attended Gonzaga University, where she was part of the inaugural class to participate in the Florence, Italy program. This formative experience sparked a lifelong love of European travel, which she shared with her significant other of over 60 years, Stan Stoneking.

Her professional life was devoted to education. For over forty years, Adele worked for Twin Rivers Unified School District, earning the respect of students and colleagues through her dedication and quiet strength.

Outside of work, Adele found joy in swimming and playing the piano. Her home was often filled with music and the gentle presence of her beloved Shelties. Her infectious laughter brought warmth to those around her.

Adele cherished her family deeply. She valued time spent with her nieces Renee Nibler and Lisa (Nibler) Corbett; Lisa's husband Kevin Corbett; great-niece Madisen Kuball Richert; and great-great-niece Aurora Schwartz. Ed and Becky Gerkey were steadfast companions throughout her life. She also held fond memories of her cousin Frank Munns, with whom she shared an interest in family history.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Nibler, mother Anita Bergevin Nibler, brother Allen Nibler, niece Michele Nibler, and godmother Nadine Munns Gerkey.

Adele's Catholic faith was a source of strength and peace. In her final moments, she was comforted by Minh Pham-a sister in spirit whose presence brought serenity during Adele's final journey.

May the memory of Adele Lynette Nibler bring comfort to all who knew her.
